Fascinating insights into the online car buying experience with this study of 556 dealers.

EV Buyer Experience Study

Dealerships play a huge role in getting more people to switch to electric cars, which is key to widespread adoption. Acting as essential guides in the customer’s car shopping journey, retailers wield significant influence over consumer decisions.

Despite this, many dealerships have yet to fully embrace digital marketing strategies tailored to the needs of EV customers.

A study conducted by Maritz of 556 retailers in the state of California in 2022-2023 unveiled some concerning trends about EV content and representation on dealership websites.

Study: Representation on EV websites with a blue and white color scheme. It features statistics and icons divided into five sections: battery (33%), EV resources (38%), why buys (71%), service (71%), and specials (11%). Each section includes relevant icons and data points about the representation on EV websites.
