The Situation
A tech conference was starting to lose exhibitors. They said they weren’t getting as much foot traffic or as many leads as they had in past years. But registration numbers looked steady, so the organizers decided to deploy eventBit to dig deeper and figure out what could be causing this disconnect.
Solution
Using eventBit’s heat and motion maps, the team saw that most attendees were gathering around the big, flashy booths near the front of the expo hall. The deeper parts of the expo space weren’t getting much traffic.
Using this information, the conference made a few key changes:
- Removed one large lounge and placed several, smaller networking pods spread throughout the floor.
- Replaced the single main entrance with two smaller entrances on opposite ends of the hall to help spread out foot traffic.
Results
The following year, exhibit hall traffic grew by 15%; scanned leads rose by 9%; and booth visitors increased by 5%.
