Maritz Policies & Procedures
Supplier Code of Conduct
Our Commitment
At Maritz, we bring experiences to life, inspiring people to be their best selves and achieve the extraordinary. It’s always been about people for us. Whether you are our client, employee, program participant or supplier, we value you as a person.
Maritz is committed to sustainability in every aspect of our business and work deliberately to lessen the impact our industry has on our planet and positively influence humanity. We are focused on foundational sustainability education for all team members in a similar approach to our design thinking practice. This is how we will reach our triple bottom line of people, planet and profit. We understand that supply chains must be sustainable, balancing the needs of today with the needs of future generations. We can achieve this only by working closely with our suppliers, partners and vendors (collectively referred to herein as, “suppliers”).
Our Supplier Code of Conduct explains how we expect suppliers to work with us to fulfill that purpose ethically and in compliance with applicable laws.
Our Responsibilities
Maritz’s responsibilities of obeying the law, playing fair, conducting business with integrity, honoring business obligations, treating others with respect, acting responsibly and being a responsible global citizen apply to all of our employees. They provide the foundation for our operations globally. Our Supplier Code of Conduct enlists our suppliers in upholding these same responsibilities. We believe this joint commitment to ethical conduct and integrity is a strong foundation for trusted business relationships that create shared value.
Policy
Obey the Law
As a responsible company, we expect our suppliers to share our commitment to following the law.
We expect our suppliers to:
- Know and follow the laws that apply to them and their business.
- Treat legal requirements as a minimum standard.
- Alert Maritz to any material issues with the goods and services they supply, especially with respect to health and safety issues. This helps Maritz comply with global regulations.
Conduct Business with Integrity
We seek business relationships based on trust, transparency and mutual accountability.
We expect our suppliers to:
- Compete fairly and ethically for Maritz’s business.
- Never offer or accept bribes, kickbacks (i.e. an illegal payment intended as compensation for preferential treatment or any other improper receipt of services), inappropriate gifts or hospitality, or other improper incentives in connection with Maritz’s business.
Play Fair
- Avoid any conflict of interest relating to financial interests or other arrangements with our employees that may be considered inappropriate.
- Work with their own suppliers to promote business conduct consistent with the responsibilities in this Supplier Code of Conduct.
We expect our suppliers to maintain accurate and honest records. This helps us make responsible business decisions and disclose truthful and timely information to our stakeholders.
We also expect our suppliers to:
- Maintain books and records that reflect all transactions in an accurate, honest and timely way.
- Employ appropriate quality audit and compliance processes for matters such as worker health and safety, and labor and employment.
Honor Business Obligations
We work with suppliers who share our desire to build business relationships. This requires honest communications, mutual respect and delivering on commitments.
We expect our suppliers to:
- Share our commitment to conducting business honestly, authentically and transparently.
- Honor business obligations and manage unanticipated events in a proactive, timely and open way.
Treat Others with Respect
We expect our suppliers to stand with us in prioritizing the safety, well-being and dignity of all individuals whose talents and hard work help us deliver our products and services.
We expect our suppliers to:
- Provide safe and healthy working conditions at all of their operations.
- Never use or tolerate the use of human trafficking, forced labor or child labor as defined by the International Labour Organization (ILO).
- Foster an inclusive work environment that is free of harassment and discrimination.
- Respect employees’ rights to organize and bargain collectively.
- Meet or exceed all legal requirements for compensation and working conditions.
Act Responsibly – Protect Maritz’s Information, Assets and Interests

We expect our suppliers to:
- Protect any of Maritz’s confidential information to which they have access, including Maritz’s intellectual property, trade secrets or financial information.
- Safeguard any property belonging to Maritz while under their control.
- Avoid any situations that may adversely affect our business interests or reputation.
Be a Responsible Global Citizen
We count on our suppliers to help Maritz to lessen the impact our industry has on our planet and positively influence humanity in a safe, responsible and sustainable way. Maritz has signed the Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children From Sexual Exploitation in Travel and Tourism.
We expect our suppliers to:
- Maintain strict standards to promote safety.
- Strive to reduce environmental impact through efforts such as ending deforestation, minimizing greenhouse gas emissions and waste, and using resources efficiently.
- Protect water resources by minimizing use of water in their operations, avoiding contamination from their operations and reducing the impact on the water resources of the surrounding communities.
- Provide applicable third-party sustainability scores upon request. Refuse involvement, both direct and indirect, in the commercial sexual exploitation of children.
Foreign Corrupt Practices Act
We expect our suppliers to:
- Comply with all laws applicable to the provision of goods and/or services pursuant to the Agreement, including the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”) and all laws and regulations prohibiting bribery, corruption and money laundering.
- Supplier will implement monitoring, record keeping, and enforcement procedures to ensure compliance with such anti-corruption laws.
- Neither Supplier nor any of its owners, directors, agents, representatives, subcontractors or employees shall offer, pay, promise or authorize any direct or indirect payments or anything of value to a third party to obtain or retain business, direct business to any person, or otherwise gain an improper advantage.
Our Goal of Trusted Partnership
It is our goal to build trust-based relationships with ethical suppliers who follow Maritz’s responsibilities. We expect our suppliers to cooperate with our reasonable requests for information, certifications and/or audit access with respect to this Supplier Code of Conduct. When there is a concern, our practice is to work with the supplier. We may be able to help identify possible improvements. By working closely with our suppliers, we believe we can achieve mutual success while helping communities and the wider world thrive.
